Aggregate Calculator — MDCAT, NUMS, ECAT, NUST NET & FAST 2026
Calculate your admission aggregate for MDCAT, NUMS, ECAT (UET), NUST NET, FAST and GIKI from matric, intermediate and test marks using each university's published weightings.

| Test score needed for +1% aggregate | — |
In short
MDCAT merit aggregate = 10% matric + 40% intermediate + 50% MDCAT (out of 200), each as marks ÷ total; NUMS uses the same weights, UET's ECAT 70% intermediate + 30% ECAT (of 400), NUST 10% matric + 15% intermediate + 75% NET, FAST 10/40/50 and GIKI 15% intermediate + 85% test. Every 4 MDCAT marks move the aggregate by 1%.
Who this is for: Pakistani students estimating their merit position for medical, engineering and computing admissions.
The merit formulas
| Test | Matric | Intermediate | Entry test |
|---|---|---|---|
| MDCAT — public medical colleges (PMDC) | 10% | 40% | 50% (of 200) |
| NUMS — Army Medical College and affiliates | 10% | 40% | 50% (of 200) |
| ECAT — UET Lahore and affiliated colleges | — | 70% | 30% (of 400) |
| NUST NET | 10% | 15% | 75% (of 200) |
| FAST-NU (NU test, computing) | 10% | 40% | 50% |
| GIKI | — | 15% | 85% |
Each component is marks obtained ÷ total marks × weight, summed to give the aggregate percentage used for the merit list. A-level students use their IBCC equivalence marks. Hafiz-e-Quran candidates get up to 20 extra marks added to matric or intermediate marks under most policies.
The "test score needed for +1%" line shows how much each extra test mark moves the aggregate — for MDCAT, 4 marks per 1%, which is why test preparation outweighs small differences in FSc marks.

Assumptions
- Aggregate = Σ (marks ÷ total) × weight, using the weightings in the Pakistan rules file; test total defaults to the formula's test_max.
- Hafiz-e-Quran marks are added to matric (or intermediate when matric is not used) before dividing.
- Minimum-marks rules, SAT alternatives and quota adjustments are not modelled.
Worked example
Matric 95.45% × 10% = 9.55; FSc 85.00% × 40% = 34.00; MDCAT 82.50% × 50% = 41.25 → aggregate 84.80%.
Each extra 4 MDCAT marks adds 1% — reaching 90% aggregate would need about 186/200 with the same FSc marks.
Frequently asked questions
What aggregate is needed for MBBS in Pakistan?
Government colleges closed at roughly 88–94% in recent cycles in Punjab and Sindh; the PMDC minimum to apply is 55% in MDCAT plus the FSc pre-medical minimum, but actual admission needs far more.
Does MDCAT use FSc part-I marks if part-II is pending?
Provincial admitting universities use the full FSc result; if it is not out, admissions wait rather than using part-I alone. Improvement-exam marks count once the result is final.
How is the A-level equivalence calculated?
IBCC converts A-level grades to intermediate marks out of 1,100 (for example A* = 90%, A = 85%, B = 75%); use the equivalence certificate figures as the obtained and total marks.
Can I retake the entry test to improve my aggregate?
NUST NET can be attempted multiple times a year with the best score used; MDCAT is once a year with the previous year's score valid for admission in some provinces; ECAT once a year.
How is MDCAT aggregate calculated?
10% matric + 40% FSc + 50% MDCAT, each as a percentage of total marks — 1,050/1,100, 1,020/1,200 and 165/200 give 84.8%.
How is ECAT aggregate calculated for UET?
70% intermediate marks + 30% ECAT (out of 400); matric is not counted.
