Split PDF — Extract or Delete Pages
Extract a page range, delete pages, or split a PDF into single-page files — processed in your browser, nothing uploaded.
In short
A PDF can be split by extracting a page range (e.g. 2-5,8), deleting pages, saving every page as its own file, or cutting it every N pages; pages are copied exactly, so text stays searchable and quality is unchanged.
Who this is for: Anyone who needs part of a PDF: a statement from a bundle, a chapter, or a document without its confidential pages.
Four ways to split a PDF
- Extract pages — pull a range (e.g. 2-5,8) into a new PDF: the pages a portal asks for, a chapter, a single statement from a yearly bundle.
- Delete pages — keep everything except the pages listed: remove blank scans, cover sheets or confidential pages before sharing.
- One file per page — for uploading pages individually or sending each certificate separately.
- Every N pages — break a long document into equal chunks under an email or portal size limit.
Pages are copied, not re-rendered, so text stays searchable and quality is unchanged. Password-protected files must be unlocked first.

Assumptions
- Modes: extract, delete, every page, every N pages; pages copied with pdf-lib.
- Output file names derived from the original name and page numbers.
- Encrypted PDFs must be unlocked first.
Worked example
Choose Extract pages, enter 10-12 → a 3-page PDF named statement-pages-10-12.pdf, ready to upload.
Frequently asked questions
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
Not while it is locked — open it in your PDF viewer, print or save a copy without the password, then split that.
Does splitting change the quality?
No. Pages are copied exactly; file sizes add up to roughly the original.
Can I reorder pages?
Extract them in the order you want — e.g. 5,1-4 — and the output follows your sequence after sorting; for full reordering, split into single pages and merge them in the new order with the merge tool.
Is there a page limit?
No; a 500-page PDF splits in seconds on a laptop.
How do I extract one page from a PDF?
Choose Extract pages, type the page number, click Split.
How do I remove a page from a PDF?
Choose Delete pages, enter the page numbers to remove, and download the result.
